Golem i Budda w Dolinie Niesamowitości. Mity założycielskie rewolucji cyfrowej
Słowa kluczowe:
Golem, Buddha, Uncanny Valley, founding myth, Norbert Wiener, Masahiro Mori, technological revolutionAbstrakt
The aim of this article is to present two myths that appear at the beginning of the current digital and technological revolution. The first is the Kabbalistic story of the Golem, recalled by Norbert Wiener in his last book on the development of cybernetics, and later by other creators of artificial intelligence. The second myth is woven around Masahiro Mori’s concept of the Uncanny Valley, the effects of which, according to the Japanese scientist, can eliminate the identification of android robots with Buddha, who found the way to the true nature of reality. Both Wiener and Mori treated their research and experiments as a kind of spirituality, standing on the border of science and specifically interpreted religious traditions. The author used the hermeneutic method, considering that it allows for a coherent analysis of the discussed myths.
