A minimalist response to the time of crisis

Abstract

What is undertaken in the presented study is the reflection upon minimalism, treated as a suggestion for building the foundations of anti-consumerist civilization. The author presents minimalism on one hand as a form of contemporary spirituality and, on the other, as a suggestion for lifestyle in the time of crisis. The figure of Henry David Thoreau is particularly focused on as well as his inspiring significance for the minimalist suggestion concerning the reconstruction of modern civilization.
