Religious experience and aesthetic experience in Gianni Vattimo’s post-metaphysical perspective

Abstract

Contemporary times are the age of “interpretation,” in which the individual constantly shapes both reality and himself. It is a period in which, as a result of the deconstruction of metaphysics, logocentrism has come to an end. The autonomy of the secular sphere, the rejection of dogmatism, the subjectivity of knowledge, and the independence of the subject are increasingly emphasized. The importance of individual religious and aesthetic experience is also growing.
