The aim of the article is to answer the question whether people who define themselves as religious, when they leave the institutional faith (in the case of Poland from the Catholic Church) and can be described as believers without belonging, first of all consider religious conversion or consider committing an act of apostasy. The results of online research conducted in 2022 are described, using scales measuring religiosity (SR Scale), spirituality (BwB Scale) and the tendency to secularization (SL Scale). It turned out that there is a very strong relationship between thinking about apostasy and the tendency to secularization (measured by the SL Scale), especially when it is combined with spirituality (in 53% of cases). According to the assumptions made, religiosity measured by the SR Scale does not predict in a statistically significant way the fact that a given person sometimes thinks about converting to another religion, however, if we take into account spirituality (BwB Scale), it turns out that in the case of one fifth of people it can be predicted that they will make a religious conversion. The results of the study indicate that a very important variable in both thinking about conversion to another religion and apostasy is spirituality measured by the scale (BwB).
