Keywords:
modernism, religion, orthodoxy, spirituality, GnosticismAbstract
When creating literature at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, Polish modernist writers did not focus solely on its aesthetic dimension. They also attempted to consider philosophical and religious issues in their texts. They were also interested in the place of religion in social life. Therefore, the aim of this article is to present selected thoughts of Tadeusz Miciński and Jerzy Hulewicz on the place of Christianity in the public life of Poland, which was reviving after years of partition. It is worth remembering that the religious inquiries of the aforementioned authors were not of an orthodox Christian nature.
