Vulgatized Christianity. The destructive role of the Vulgate in Western Christianity

Abstract

Not only was the Vulgate the most important text of medieval Western Europe, but it continues to exert a powerful influence on Western Christianity and many areas of Western culture. In this contribution I will try to demonstrate the harmful role of the Vulgate translation of the New Testament using selected examples.
