The conspiracy theories are usually not falsified on the basis of fact explanation, but can be understood from the perspective of cultural studies and religious studies. Their influence is particularly strong in the area of contemporary popular culture, but also in the area of religious doctrines and narratives with conspiracy threads. It is also impossible to fully study this phenomenon without considering the problem of mediatization of religions.
